for 5000 years....

North America knows them as yurts, yet often thinks of them as a Mongolian structure. In fact, 'yurt' is a Russian word for what the people of Mongolia call 'ger'.  Perhaps it is fitting that the Russian name stuck, as the earliest evidence of yurts was found in Bronze Age (~3000BC) petroglyphs (rock etchings) in Siberia.
We paired this commonly used name with the creek from which we get our micro-hydro power, our drinking water, and our refreshed energy to build.
Thus was born Bird Creek Yurts!
